Are You Working This Weekend?
Recently I restructured my calendar to create more focus, more clarity around my work and make sure I have enough time allocated to the projects and tasks I want done each week in my business and continue to serve my clients at the highest level.
And, stop working on weekends!
So far it’s been going well.
However, yesterday I encountered a situation which not only tested my commitment to my calendar, it confirmed to me that by making the decision to keep my commitment to myself, I could find another solution.
Unexpectedly, I found out that something needed to be done yesterday for one of our other businesses and the people who normally handle this are both out of town.
I didn’t have time to do it myself. If I had taken it on, it would have totally messed up my schedule and got me completely off track. And, it would have resulted in me working late last night and probably this weekend. However, it needed to get done & I was the only person who could get it handled.
As I was thinking of possible solutions, I kept reminding myself that my commitment to my business is very important to me and there had to be a solution that allowed me to keep my commitment and still take care of the situation.
I made a couple of calls to see what the options were and in the process of doing that I found out that handling the situation wasn't as urgent as I had been told, and it could wait until next week when everyone was back in town.
I was also reminded that I have the capability of manifesting solutions that work for me.
In the past, I would have jumped up, taken care of the other situation and put my priorities last, worked the weekend or just not finished my projects when I wanted them done.
I have learned that my priorities are just as important as everyone else’s and it’s okay to put that boundary around my business hours.
And, honestly, it’s felt uncomfortable at times saying “no” to things that will stop me or slow me down from reaching my own business goals. I am usually saying “no” to the people I love the most and want to help the most.
However, I am also feeling empowered in my decisions, keeping my commitment to myself and reaching my goals, easier and quicker.
I’m sharing this with you just in case you’ve found yourself being pulled into things that aren't in alignment with your goals or desires.
Are you having trouble saying “no”?
Are you setting aside your own needs and desires to take care of everyone else?
As women, it’s easy to fall into the trap of taking care of ourselves last.
Unfortunately, this leads to burn-out, frustration, resentment and not reaching our goals.
I teach my premium private clients how to set boundaries and feel courageous and empowered in doing so.
When they start putting themselves first, their businesses begin to thrive even more, they are happier, have more energy and have more free time.
How would your business, clients, family and friends benefit from you being happier, having more energy, more free time and the increased income having a thriving business provides?
If you’re realizing that you’re ready to set boundaries and would like training and support in doing so, reach out to me. I will help you feel empowered and show you how to have the courageous conversations that you’ll need to have in order to have those around you honor your boundaries.
